    SIN-FUL MUSIC

We were very fortunate to have our coordinating assistant, Masami Takahashi, endure freezing cold temperatures and travel to Warsaw to take these great pics of the Warsaw Symphony.  It's a great behind the scenes look at the making of the SIN soundtrack.

PHOENIX ENTERTAINMENT

Founded in 1990, Phoenix Entertainment began operations with the production of the now classic GIANT ROBO animated series.  Although the main thrust of Phoenix's business was at first oriented on such matters as rights acquisition, licensing, and the production and publication of original music, in 1993 General producer Yasuhito Yamaki expanded the company's focus to include all aspects of animation production. Under Mr. Yamaki, Phoenix produced a number of outstanding animated films, including such well-known properties as SUPER ATRAGON and NINJA RESURRECTION.  In addition to their unique and highly individual style, Phoenix productions are noted for their lush use of lavish visuals and rich, detailed soundtracks backed by powerful symphonic scores.  In 1996, Yamaki and Phoenix produced their first TV series, PRINCESS NINE, which was co-produced by NHK Entertainment, one of Japan's largest broadcasting networks.  As with previous Phoenix projects, PRINCESS NINE quickly gathered great acclaim for both its high production values and unique storyline.

Director: Yasunori Urata
Born March 23, 1965.  Age 34

Mr. Urata began his animation career as an assistant storyboard artist for the animated feature PROJECT A-KO. As an animation director, he worked on such films and series as MACHINE ROBO, PAT LABOR, RANMA1/2, YAWARA, VENUS WARS, MACROSS II and GEDOGAKUEN.  As a director, his reputation for fusing spectacular action with intimate human drama was firmly established by  his stunning work on both NINJA RESURRECTION and the last episode of GIANT ROBO, for which he was specifically selected by general director Yasuhiro Imagawa.  The acclaim he has subsequently received for his direction and storyboards for the highly rated PRINCESS NINE have only served to increase his stature as one the top creators in his field.

Key Animator/Character Designer: Dan Kongouji      Age 37

Famous for his work produced under Tomoyasu Kogawa on such Sunrise Productions as SPACE RUNAWAY IDEON, HEAVY METAL L-GAIM, and AURA BATTLER DUNBINE, Mr. Kongouji has subsequently become one of Japan's most sought after free-lance artists.  In addition to his work on far too many television, video and video-game productions to list here, he has also achieved a certain level of infamy for his work on the first LEGEND OF THE OVERFIEND series, for which he served as a conceptual artist, director and character designer.

Producer:  Yasuhito Yamaki  Age 45

After graduating from Keio university, Mr. Yamaki's first work in film was on the classic SPACE CRUISER YAMATO series, better known to North America viewers as STAR BLAZERS (TM).  From there it was a long step to his first stint as the executive producer on a show that was destined to forever change the world of Japanese animation, LEGEND OF THE OVERFIEND. Overthrowing all of the then standard rules of anime, OVERFIEND was a major hit and captivated audiences around the entire world with its high quality and shocking content.  After that, he was the key person responsible for both producing and assembling the creative staff for the now legendary GIANT ROBO animation series. In 1998, Mr. Yamaki's first television production, the action and drama packed girls' sports series PRINCESS NINE , became one of the most talked about series in Tokyo.  As always, Mr. Yamaki's special touch for assembling the best creative artist with appealing stories filled with outstanding music, spectacular visuals and memorable characters had produced yet another major hit.

Visual Concepts Supervisor: Makoto Kobayashi

Born in 1960,Tokyo, Mr. Kobayashi began his original design business when he was in school.  He published original photo storyboards with miniatures and submitted original planning ideas for Bandai. Kobayashi's artistic talents led him to key roles in production, creation and design on such renowned projects as Z GUNDAM and ZZ GUNDAM, GIANT ROBO, YAMATO 2520 and SUPER ATRAGON. While currently working on video game designs, Kobayashi has a digital animation piece with the legendary Katsuyoshi Otomo, an untitled Gainax production and a CG drama lined up for future projects
